Oklahoma Water Treatment Operator Certification: Regulatory Framework & Source Water
Certifying Authority
The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Water Quality Division, certifies operators of public water systems under Oklahoma Administrative Code (OAC) Title 252, Chapter 710. Certification uses a single Class D-C-B-A ladder, with Class D as the entry-level credential and Class A as the highest. Certificates are renewed annually on a July 1 - June 30 certificate year. Operators can reach the DEQ Operator Certification (OpCert) program directly for exam scheduling, renewal questions, and continuing education approval.
