Licensing Structure
TCEQ licenses wastewater collection system operators under 30 TAC Chapter 30 in three classes:
- Class I — entry-level collection system supervision.
- Class II — intermediate collection system supervision.
- Class III — advanced collection system supervision (highest level).
Each person directly supervising domestic wastewater collection system operation or maintenance crews must hold a Collection license (or a Wastewater Treatment Plant operator license). All classes renew every three years with 30 continuing education hours.
